Thanks Lisa….
Lisa and Jerry’s images released. Here’s what she said….
“The images you captured were AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE them and can’t believe you caught so many perfect candid moments. I could not be happier. I literally was on my computer looking at them yesterday for 5 and 1/2 hours straight and there are just so many that I love! I am SO excited for the final album!

Congrats to Emily and Brendan, a great “day” wedding….
This is one of the sweetest brides I have ever met. Emily, you and your family are amazing and Brendan, you have the best groom smile ever! Emily and Brendan were married at her own father’s church, Emmaus Lutheran in Falmouth, Maine with a reception at nearby (private) Portland Country Club. Take a gander…. a great day wedding for all! Some brides worry about having a day event. This was a wonderful example of how an early afternoon service/reception works just as well as an evening event for many families.
Kim and Luke: colorful couple, colorful event
Ahhhhhh Luke and Kim…. my AZ babies. (I’m from AZ … shout out.) What a day! Congrats on throwing a spectacular wedding event in Brooksville, Maine. (A far off town near the Bar Harbor area that makes you feel like you are at the end of the planet and maybe reached heaven.) Their wedding was held at his family’s beautiful waterfront home. Every inch of their property was colorful and bright and lovely. The weather was perfect and so was the couple… relaxed and happy. This is what getting married in Maine is all about! Thanks for a really great time guys! Your families were so fabulous to me! Dancing to the steel drum band and getting away from town for a night was just what I needed! Here are just a few of my favorite shots. PS- I wish I had Kim’s strawberry hair.
Just goes to show…. Congrats Rob and Christina!
You might remember Christina and Rob from the blog awhile back. They were the couple soaked on their engagement session day but rallied to create a fabulous image with me of them kissing in the rain under umbrellas. Well, guess who got soaked again on their wedding day?
It just goes to show, that a little rain on ANY day, even your big day, is just an opportunity to make great, different images.
We spent more time inside and that became just great stuff. And, we creatively replaced our beach portraits with some fun stuff on the trolley that the couple rented to get to the beach instead. So fun!
Christina and Rob had their small, intimate family-and-close-friends-only wedding in Kennebunkport, Maine at Ocean Woods Resort. They pulled off a really fun event and weekend for their guests. Take a look.
Most memorable for me… Graham, the best man from Australia, gave the funniest dry humor speech I’ve ever heard- in a brilliant accent. Chris’s dress was so lovely and just right for her humble personality. Um… our flower girl…. I love the shot below. Isn’t that just the look that starts the whole dream wedding thing off? I love Rob’s face at the hand off! He just is so sincere here to her and her father. Look at his face.
Rob and Christina, for two people who hate the spotlight… you handled it together with grace! Cheers to you both!
Runaway, Tim and Annette, Runaway
I took on an elopement midweek and just had a blast. I typically only do full-day weekend bridal clients… but after speaking with Annette, it had to be done. She called, kind of last minute, but sounded like she could use my help. The service was short and sweet. The day was one warm and sunny. I shot for just two hours… and we are still putting together one of our signature albums for them with portraits and their story. Tim and Annette, from Ohio, came to Maine for a quick elopement on the banks of the Maine ocean at Portland Head Light. The couple toured the state for another week as a honeymoon. Maine can’t be beat for a destination elopement. Sorry Tim, for making you stand in 50 degree water. Hope it was worth it! Beth ![]()
Congrats to Julie and Shane
People ask me all the time, “what’s the hardest thing about your job…” Well, to be honest, picking blog photos stinks— especially with wedding like this one. The shots in this event are so very sweet…nice moments, beautiful and caring couple with funny, close families. Doesn’t get better for pictures. How do I pick just a few? Seriously. Tons of great stuff to share.

Julie and Shane were married on a waterfront home down in Kennebunkport, Maine with a reception at The River Club. Julie’s family is very close… her brother and three sisters, with their families (and like a zillion children from all parts of the family), made for fun images.

Also, Julie and Shane were amazing together. For a photographer, it is the way Shane looks at Julie and laughs with her that makes great pictures. Look at how much fun they share together! You can’t fake that for pictures, people. It is a very special thing.
These pics… I love her parents looking on at their first dance (love the flash going off behind them… acted like a bonus spot light for me), I love the simple flowers in Julie’s hair. Perfect for her. Her dress was just insanely fabulous. I love the laughing between Julie and Shane. Love the glance Julie gave her Dad as he brought her down the isle. Dad is very important to Julie. I love all the people on the porch taking pictures of the couple kissing before they get to the reception. There’s a little guy on top of the poster on a balcony with the tiniest happy snap camera. I love him up there. Cake…. just look at it. The couple rode in a trolley… which was just an added bonus to an already great day.
I had such a nice time with these two families. Oh, hats off to Shane’s brother for a really funny toast! So memorable! I can’t wait to link their album for you to see. It is amazing. Up soon! Beth

Letter from Paris
Congrats to Katie and Jordan, my 06.07.08 wedding couple, currently in Paris on their honeymoon and no doubt delighting still in their beyond perfect day at Migis Lodge on fabulous Lake Sebago in Maine. This is from Katie and Jordan who just saw their photos and album…
“Great, phenomenal, awesome work. We are really happy. We watched the album and I cried. (that’s probably not too surprising!) Then we sat in bed in our Paris hotel room and skimmed through the galleries. Lots of good stuff in there. We’ll look in everything in greater detail when we get back to the US. But know that we are really, really happy!-Katie and Jordan”
I’m not sure what the best part of this event was… the service was wonderful, the location was perfect, the bagpiper was a show-stopper…. but I may have to go with (wait for it…) the serious-first-dance-gone-robot. Never been so darn impressed. Katie and Jordan’s reception was like an 80’s dance movie–everyone knew the steps to every song. No kidding. And Katie, could you be cuter? Jordan could you be nicer? I had so much fun at this event and the book made me cry too. Seriously people, I love my couples.

Melissa and Dave at The Spruce Point Inn
Congrats to Dave and Melissa! What a fabulous wedding event at Spruce Point Inn at Boothbay Harbor, Maine on 05.25. I personally had a great time with these two Harvard lawyers, their folks, friends and family!
Thank you Sue (mother of the bride) for finding me for your daughter! Man, I love my job! Your family is so lovely and sweet. Look what Sue wrote me after the event:
Hi Beth,
How can we thank you enough! Melissa and Dave so enjoyed having you as their photographer and I so enjoyed meeting you, and watching you in your element. I remember when we spoke a while back that you mentioned how you love to watch people interact with one another, and that was so evident in observing you catch those special moments. I can’t tell you how many guests asked who the photographer was because they, too, noticed that you had a very quiet and subtle, yet intuitive approach to your photography. I can’t wait to see the pictures
.
We also appreciate you traveling to Boothbay to be a part of Melissa & Dave’s special day, especially in light of the change in location. Beth, you are very special and so sweet. Thank you again!
Sue
Congrats Melissa and Bob!
I spent the weekend in Martha’s Vineyard celebrating with Melissa and Bob. They’re a great couple and it was an exceptional wedding event! Melissa was a fun and elegant bride. Their families were fantastic - they let me stay in their beach rental along the coastline, which helped me capture moments I otherwise would have missed.

The service overlooked a lighthouse and was one of the prettiest events I have ever seen.
It rained my entire car ride down and the Steamship Authority ferry ride was a wet one. It rained all night (the tent almost blew away and Melissa had a tearful fight with the tent vendor to keep the tent up! You go girl! Way to save your tent and your party!!!!) and continued to rain the morning of until just before the ceremony the clouds parted. A tad bit of wind helped create the perfect wedding scene!
Melissa and Bob’s friends were rockstars doings tons of work to help the bride and groom on their wedding day. Everything came together perfectly. Good food. The band was awesome.
The pictures are fabulous too! You could tell the bride felt beautiful in every shot. Our album will be up shortly. It will be amazing! I can’t wait for Melissa and Bob to see it.
Stay tuned!
Here’s a sneak peak at some images!
Cheers! Love you Melissa and Bob!
